It's Reader Submission Week and I have Considered Creative from the fine town of Bollington to thank for this submission.
But what a strange submission it is – and I'll tell you why.
Mister Marble sells kitchen worktops and bathroom units. So far, so unsurprising. What else would Mister Marble sell, after all?
But there is a problem.
Mister Marble specialises in granite.
In fact, from what I can ascertain, Mister Marble specialises exclusively in granite.
Go to the kitchen worktops section of his website and it's all granite. Go to the bathrooms section. Granite bathrooms. Go to the video gallery. Videos of people cutting granite. Go to the online estimate section. Get a quote for your granite kitchen worktop.
It's wall-to-wall granite.
Most mysteriously of all, Mister Marble's Frequently Asked Questions section contains the following question, right down at number 13:
Q13 – Can I get marble worktops?
This is a common misconception, marble is rarely used in kitchen worktops and mistermarble would never suggest using marble or limestone in kitchens, marble is a very erosive material which reacts easily with kitchen cleaners and organic materials such as lemon juice.
A common misconception?
What did you say your name was again?
It really is the most puzzling thing I have come across in all my blogging.
By the way, I have checked and the founder of the business is not called Mister Marble. He is called Jason Cummins.
Can anybody shed any light on this? I am close to losing my granites here!
