I have resolved to start the year on a healthy note, although we’ll no doubt be back to kebabs and chips in a few days.
Mr Fruity is a wholesale supplier of fruit and vegetables to the East Anglian catering industry.
He makes a good joke about fruit on his website homepage:
As major wholesalers to the catering industry in Norfolk and Suffolk for many years, you could say it is Mr Fruity’s core business.
Core business is a reference to apple cores etc.
From the picture above, it seems that Mr Fruity has chosen the lemon as a symbol for his business. I can see the rationale for this: the yellow works well against his core colour of green (another core joke).
Mr Fruity makes one more joke on his website:
We pride ourselves on our high level of Customer Service: there is no room for compromise with our discerning customer base, or for a delivery going pear-shaped!
This is a good joke, but I have taken the liberty of writing some more, all of which are specifically designed for a promotional/corporate context. Mr Fruity, please use them if you want to:
We deliver on time, kumquat may!
Currantly Norfolk’s leading supplier!
Plum jobs available!
Our dates are never past their sell-by!
You get what you papaya for!
You won’t catch us raisin our prices!
I forgot to wish you happy new year at the start of this post, but happy new year.
I also want to say thank you to the people at the Johnson Banks design blog for an unexpected mention in their round-up of the year. It is nice to be referred to as the Mr Blog.
